Rent it from a neighbor. Back by Sunday.
A neighborhood rental marketplace for Denver and Boulder. One codebase ships the iOS app, Android and the web, with identity checks, security holds and owner payouts built in.

The problem
Trust is the product.
Renting skis, a tent or a party setup from someone down the street should be as easy as booking a room. The hard parts are trust and money: who is this person, what happens if the item comes back broken, and when does the owner get paid.
The app had to answer all three without a human in the loop for a normal rental, and give staff clean tools for the rare one that goes wrong.
What I built
A marketplace that runs itself.
A single Expo codebase ships iOS, Android and the web, with over-the-air updates so fixes reach phones without a store release.
Owners photograph an item and an AI assistant drafts the title, category, description and replacement value. The owner edits and publishes.
Daily pricing with weekly discounts, optional owner delivery, and bundles like a beach day or a ski kit reserved all-or-nothing.
Stripe Identity for everyone before their first rental. A security authorization placed just before pickup, re-authorized automatically if it would lapse.
Stripe Connect onboarding, an append-only earnings ledger, funds released 48 hours after a clean return, and withdrawals straight to the bank.
A separate console with two-factor sign-in for cases, evidence review, refunds and finance, plus a reconciler that settles every booking every fifteen minutes.
Outcome
platforms from one codebase
to a working beta
manual steps in a clean rental
