CalendarBell is a desktop application that shows reminders for your Google Calendar events on your own computer. It has no servers. Your calendar data is read directly from Google by the application running on your machine, used only to show you a reminder, and never sent anywhere else.
CalendarBell requests a single Google OAuth scope,
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly. This grants
read-only access. The application cannot create, modify or delete anything
in your calendar.
Using that access, it reads:
The OAuth refresh token that lets CalendarBell reconnect to Google is stored
on your computer, encrypted with the Windows Data Protection API
(CryptProtectData, CurrentUser scope) together with an
application-specific entropy value. Only your Windows user account, on that
machine, can decrypt it. It is transmitted only to Google, and only to
refresh access. Copying the file to another computer yields nothing usable.
All application state lives in a single folder,
%APPDATA%\CalendarBell: your settings, the encrypted credential
file, a record of which reminders have already been shown, and a local log
of sync activity and errors. All of it stays on your computer.
calendarbell logout <account> to revoke the token
with Google and delete it locally.%APPDATA%\CalendarBell folder to remove all
remaining local state.Because nothing is retained anywhere but your own computer, these steps remove your data completely.
CalendarBell is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.
